July 16, 2009 -- Simulation based design is emerging as an increasingly practical and cost effective alternative to "build-tune-test-iterate" methods. A high power amplifier design technique is described for using Agilent Genesys RF/ microwave software with accurate non-linear transistor models.

A 900-MHz class AB LDMOS amplifier with combined goals of 5W and at least 50% PAE will be used as a case study for this design technique.
