TI's Stellaris Microcontroller Platform Now Supports Microsoft .NET Micro Framework in Open Source
August 9, 2011 -- Golden-IC Technology Co., Ltd., today announced it has successfully ported the Microsoft .NET Micro Framework to Texas Instruments, Inc.'s (TI) Stellaris microcontroller (MCU) platform based on the ARM Cortex-M processor. Golden IC released the source code of the .NET Micro Framework port to Stellaris MCUs.
"Full support for on-device debugging in Visual Studio has traditionally been a barrier for many Visual C# and .NET developers wanting to program microcontrollers," said Miguel Morales, Stellaris MCU Marketing Manager, TI. "With this release, this diverse community of developers now has easy access to the networking and connectivity features of Stellaris Cortex-M processor-based microcontrollers."
