March 26, 2004 -- Murata Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and Ansoft Corporation have announced the release of a new component library consisting of Murata's capacitor/inductor components for use within Ansoft Designer.

"Providing a design kit for Ansoft Designer will ensure that our current and future customers will have the necessary elements to develop the next generation of ultra-miniature telecommunication products with greater accuracy," said Mr. Hiroaki Tanaka, Associate Senior Manager, Technology Management Department at Murata.

The device library contains proprietary equivalent simulation models of Murata's discrete Capacitor/Coil Inductor products for use in general-purpose high-frequency designs. These devices are key building blocks in the development of radio frequency (RF) circuits and sub-systems found in many of today's commercial and military applications. This library improves design accuracy by supplying vendor-authorized device models directly as ready-to-use components.

The Murata library is available free from Murata's Web site and is easily downloaded and configured for use in Ansoft Designer. This site provides Ansoft Designer users with the ability to search for components by size, name, performance data or other specifications. Murata will maintain model support and upgrades, while Ansoft will address all customer support for Ansoft Designer.
